ABDF – Micro Loan

In order to be eligible, you must:
Have documented proof of Aboriginal ancestry.
Have the education/experience that would contribute to your collective business and management experience.
Have evidence of sufficient personal financial resources to undertake the project you are proposing (a bank statement)
Include a resume that highlights experience, training and/or education related to your business activity.
Should be involved full-time with the proposed business in a management capacity.
Must participate and complete a 20 day pre-loan training and mentoring program.

Contact the Rainy Lake Tribal Area Business & Financial Services Corporation office nearest you to discuss your project with a Business Services Officer (BSO). The BSO will provide further clarifications on eligibility requirements and will be your ongoing contact person. You will receive the Application for Finance if the BSO finds you business idea to be viable. Be sure to include any required documentation such as proof of Aboriginal ancestry, a complete Business Plan and financials required, a resume outlining your skills & experience and anything else we may require.

20 Day Training & Mentoring Program

The ABDF Training and Mentoring Program was designed to provide support mechanisms to clientele, both pre- and post-loan disbursement, in the form of entrepreneurial training and mentorship. The program is intended to enhance the managerial skills of participants, and is considered to be a crucial element in improving the likelihood of business success. Successful completion of the training program then serves as equity for the client to access an ABDF micro loan in the amount of $2,000 to $20,000.
